Read: Hebrews 4:15; Luke 4:1-13
Principle:
Jesus was tempted as we are, yet He remained perfectly sinless.
Ask Your Child:
What does it mean that Jesus is a sympathetic High Priest?
answer - He understands our weaknesses
How did Jesus respond to the devil when tempted?
answer - He quoted Scripture
Why is it good news that Jesus perfectly obeyed?
answer - He represented His people with perfect obedience
Apply:
Jesus lived one perfect life for His people. He perfectly obeyed the law of God that every man must but no other could. Christ was obedient to death, satisfying God’s requirements and wrath as our representative. God now freely gives Christ’s perfect record to all who ask Him – trust in Jesus today.
Memorize for the Week:
Hebrews 4:15 – For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin
